Creating sustainable community livelihoods through integrated approach
Nkhatabay district has rich resources but needs a catalyst to develop and nourish to activate community participation inorder to protect these resources.The targeted area has a population of over 48,000 people.The majorit are women seconded by active but jobless youths with untapped abilities.

There are 21 landing sites for fish,but lacks financial resources to serve the community.This trend exposes girls and women to fall prey of businesss men who come from across the country to buy fish.
There is also high rate of deforestation due to wanton cutting of trees for fish processing.

Specific Objectives:
-Reduce dependency syndrome amongst community members which is deeply embedded since ages past.
-Reduce gender disparities and inequalities.
-Promote early childhood care and education.
-Improve capacity of community members in managing development activities sustainable.

Expected Output:
-Improved knowledge and skills utilization
-Well organized and sustainable village savings groups which will eventually become co-opearatives
-Improved early childhood appreciation of conserving nature through establishment or intensifying knowledge on preservation of land resources.
