Restoration of natural spawning areas in the floodplain of the Pripyat River in the reserve "Middle Pripyat" Zhitkovichi district
The project goal: Rehabilitation of natural spawning areas in the floodplain of the Pripyat River Zhitkovichy area by restoring degraded floodplain ecosystems and the organization of sustainable use of natural grasslands in the restored areas.
Project tasks:
1. Assessment of 4 spawning areas in the floodplain of the Pripyat River in the reserve "Middle Pripyat" Zhitkovichy district.
2. Perform activities on restoration of the natural spawning areas in the area of 200 ha.
3. The organization of the sustainable use of recovered spawning grounds.
4. Dissemination of information.
Expected results
1. Conducted assessment of 4 spawning areas in the floodplain of the Pripyat River in the reserve "Middle Pripyat" Zhitkovichi district, produced scientific justification for restoration.
2. The works on the restoration of the natural spawning grounds in the area 200ga.
3. Sustainable use of recovered spawning areas and monitoring is organized.
4. Conducted 3 workshops. Produced 1000 information booklets. Posted three articles in the press on project's results
