Chingale area in Zomba district has 35000 small scale farmers most of them women and children.The area has been subjected to serious soil degradation leading to low yields.There is need for conservation farming to enable these groups increase teir productivity,adapt to climate change and reverse environmental degradation where by ensuring food security,self reliance and expand their economic base.
