Considering the level of land degradation over the years in Costa Leste, Santo Antão Island and noticeably loss of agricultural land, especially affecting coffee planted areas, which are traditionally productive areas local farmers, therefore affecting community livelihoods, the local CBO has enable conditions, and committed to not only revive the coffee plantations, but recover some of the degraded land. This will mean constructing 3.000 meters of anti-erosion terraces, and planting 1.200 new coffee plants. The farmers, in partnership with the local association and the Delegation of the Ministry of Rural Development will be engaged in executing all activities.
