Successive deforestation efforts have decreased significant endemic species areas on the perimeter of Natural Park of Cova, Paúl and Ribeira da Torre. Communities in Paúl aware of the problem and through this present project have promoted several conservation efforts in partnership with local authorities. Soil and biodiversity conservation, specifically reforestation activities with endemic species, are the main activities being promoted on park lands. Other issues such as sustainable water uses and conservation are additionally tackled in this present initiative with the construction of a 50 m3 water tank.
