The Hope Project
The Hope Project is an initiative started in 2009 by the Carriçal local community, in partnership with the National Institute for Fisheries Development (INDP) and Municipality of Ribeira Brava in S. Nicolau Island. The first activities were marine turtles nest monitoring and awareness actions with community members. This project aims to promote conservation of marine turtles by implementing awareness and sensitizing activities, and nesting area patrols, while stimulation future ecotourism projects
