Developing and Integrating Sustainable Ecosystem Practices In Schools while promoting the concepts of Eco-Schools through Conservation of the Natural Environment.
The project will focus on promoting the conservation and sustainable use of native plant biodiversity on the Bahamas Academy campus restoring a defined area on campus where native forest has been impacted. Further the project will provide a recycling programme for aluminum cans used by the students daily. The project will also provide for a water catchment system to enhance the conservation of water efforts at the School to be used to support the native plant garden. Finally, teachers, staff and students alike will utilize the programming in support of a more eco-sensitive school community, with the project areas being integrated into the lessons in the classroom and utilized as a living lab.

Project objectives include:
? Mainstreaming the concepts of sustainable development and plant biodiversity conservation into the primary and secondary curricula of the Bahamas Academy School;
? Increasing awareness of sustainable development and native plant biodiversity on the among parents, teachers, staff and students of the school;
? Promoting native plant biodiversity conservation by reducing the quantity of invasive alien species (IAS) on the school campus and by encouraging the planting of native species throughout the campus; and
? Building the capacity of teachers to effectively communicate ideas related to sustainable development and biodiversity to the students at the school.
