Protection and provision of watering facility at woodlots established at Perai
The propose project intends to protect and provide access to water at the 600 meters square of woodlots at Perai Tenda Village Tumana District. The said area was provided by the community and over a total of 1,020 different tree species (including fruits and valuable trees) was planted. The establishment of the woodlots is meant to conserve the environment and promote the idea of tree planting among local community groups/kafo. The project will thus alleviate the difficulties of seedlings for planting in the area during the tree planting season.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
One major objective of this project is to build local capacity in tree management and forest protection. This is done in collaboration with the regional forestry office in the area ,who provided the necessarily expertise.
Project sustainability
The beneficiary community has shown a good sense of ownership and this is anticipated to serve as a vehicle for sustainability. A management committee is set up and task with monitoring and regular maintenance post project implementation.
The implementing NGO is an established one with lot of goodwill in the community and has pledged to continue monitoring activities post implementation.
