Halarae is a local NGO which well known among the government and local donors especially the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF). Halarea has already experienced in implementing various agriculture project including reforestation project which is funded by the local government as well as international donors.
All project implemented by the Halarea are working with the rural communities/farmers.
The SGP Timor-Leste provided fund to Halarea to implement project on climate change impact mitigation in working with the community and youth group in the Leolima soco, Balibo Sub district. The Halarea got allocation fund from the GEF SGP Timor-Leste with total $34,950 dollars. The fund used by Halare implement project activities as in our proposal which we proposed to GEF SGP Timor-Leste.
The main objectives of Halarea is to promote the initiatives of the local community to protect their environment.
The main activities implemented by Halarae ar; Provided seeds and seedlings to local community, conducted reforestation, piloting agro-forestrye farming project and provided technical capacity to local community including the youth on agro-forestry farming, reforestation and a bit organic farming.

Total seedlings provided to community in total 8,000 tree seedlings in various species such teak, magogany, and other legume trees species. The seeds provided were corn and peanuts seeds with high yield and short lifespan, can be harvest in 3 months after planting.

At the end of the project implementation Halarea in working with local community has conducted reforestation with total land around 10 ha and total seedlings planted are 6,250 seedlings. 4 agro-forestry piloted with total large is 4 ha and total seedlings planted in the agro-forestry farm are 1,918 seedlings.

Total community involve directly in project implementation are 80 household with total members of family 250.
