Gender issues represent a priority for the Friends? Association of Lagodekhi Protected Areas. The gender balance is 50/50 in the project implementing team, and the project manager is a woman. Besides, the gender is a key issue during the project implementation. e.g. The cooperative, which should be staffed with Ninigori community representatives, also takes the gender issues into account.

Goal of the project is to improve livelihoods of two directions: 1. People of Ninigori community, by involving them in eco-tourism activities; 2. Ninigori community and the population of Lagodekhi town employed in the tourism field are involved during the whole project.

The project aims arranging an eco-educational path in the Lagodekhi protected areas for promoting environmental issues, which will contribute to supporting biodiversity awareness-raising both locally and on national level.

Association of Lagodekhi Protected Areas: There are 3 entities involved in project implementation: Ninigori community, administration of Lagodekhi protected areas and our organization. This is the first project for us and it will help our organization in developing and building the skills for managing the multi-subject projects. In addition,. The project components, such as trainings and experience sharing will also assist our organization members as well as Ninogori community and Lagodekhi PA administation staff in deepening their professional skills and in getting familiar with new developments and best practices.
