Rajasthan Forest Produce Collectors and Processors Groups Support Society (Samarthak Samiti)
?Livelihood of communities living around Protected Areas Sita-mata Sanctuary Area and other similar forest blocks faces many problems such as large area are wasteland hills, less than 15% cultivable land, poor resource and knowledge sharing groups, cooperatives or organisation, low investment capacity of individual families.
?Most of the families under the project are dependent on agriculture farming but it provides only the sustenance for 3-7 months. Communities in the non farming seasons migrate to cities for their livelihood and cash income as it gives the sustenance for 4-8 months and on an average of 6 months depending on their duration of migration and number of migrating family members.
?The total land holding in the project villages is 6,824 hectares which is sloping, poor soil thickness, and facing high degree of erosion thus level of productivity in the region remains low.
?The project has been set up to improve the livelihood of poor forest dwellers in Dhariyawad Region through tree plantation and related value additions in crop/ NTFP based systems approach.
?The areas focused under the project are Jolar, Nayaboria, Bharkundi and Lodiya Panchayats of Dhariyawad Block, Udaipur District and are hilly uplands dominated by dry land agriculture and tribal community spread over in hundred remote villages.
?The project area is part of Pratapgarh district in Rajasthan which was once big supplier of common tree based produces such Mahua, Ratanjot, Tendu, Jamin, Marod fali, Khakra, Custard Apple, Koronda, Lasuda etc.

Notable Community Participation
20 youth (young boys and girls) will be provided training and exposure on enterprise building.
Gender Focus
Both men and women will be equally involved in the project. 20 Producer Groups (PGs)/ 20 SHGs with 400 women will be formed to benefit from Jamun, Bel, Kaunch, Jack Fruit, Guava, Heena, Air Potato plantations. Women groups will be provided with required tools and equipments (storage bins for MFP, grinding units) for producing better quality powder, juice, sirka. 400 families will be grouped as 20 MFP collector group in 9 villages who will be involved in proper joint marketing, value addition and collective marketing to enhance food security and income for the participating families. On an average 20 women will be grouped as one CIG (common interest group) and meetings will be regularly conducted for developing the project.
