Linking Conservation of Riverine Resources with Sustainable livelihood: North Eastern Godavari basin, India
? In the project area, the livelihood of people is in jeopardy as fish fauna is depleting due to habitat destruction, invasive species, increasing anthropogenic pressure and destructive fishing.
? Due to siltation there is a problem of ground water recharge and flooding in the agriculture fields which is in turn is affecting the traditional decision making and conflict resolution systems, widespread ignorance about the various conservation issues among local people on one hand and government departments on the other.
