CREATING AWARENESS ON DEFORESTATIONAND PROMOTINGALTERNATIVELIVELIHOOD FOR WOMEN AND COMMUNITY DWELLERS ON SUSTAINABLE LAND MANAGEMENT
Town hall meeting for project site selection;
? Recruitment of community based staff;
? Procurement and farm implements (including seeds, cutlasses, cattles etc )
? Training on pineapples, cassava and cattle rising;
? Preparation of the sites for planting of pineapples suckers and cassava cuttings;
? Construction fence for the cattle;
? Mini warehouse construction for agriculture inputs
? Submission of 1st Progress Report ( Narrative and Financial)
? Monitoring and reporting on key results, impacts, challenges, sustainability
? Final Evaluation of the project;
? Submission of final narrative and financial reports.
With the above planned activities, when carried out in line with the proposed project, there will be inclusiveness in the process, participation, ownership, sustainability that will be result oriented. The capacity will be enhanced to formulate and development activities that will be effectively managed and implemented by the community.

Notable Community Participation
An in-depth consultation has already taken place, with discussions beginning in 2012 with community and stakeholders representative. This proposal has evolved as a direct result of that consultation process and a pre-project development visit which was undertaken from September by the project team .
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Knowledge transfer and capacity building based on personal involvement of local people are at the heart of this project and hence dissemination is an integral aspect of what is planned.
