Third tranch implementation brought about numerous results based on planned activities.
1. Sixty farmers (9 women) were trained in theory and practical crocodile farming technique.
2. About 160 individuals participated in crocodile egg harvesting resulting in comes generated annually of about USD$90,000-USD$100,000.
3. The organisation successfully negotiated the increase in price of eggs from USD$3 to USD$5 in 2015 resulting in 60% increase in price of crocodile eggs.
4. Success of this livelihood initiative has encouraged new policy to include livelihood initiative as s neccessary part of achieving conservation and relieving pressures on the environment.
5. Commitment from government (local member) to support crocodile farmers with USD$100,000 . This will be used to roll out training to farmers as they continue to try to improve quality of crocodile skins.
6. Acknowledgement by government of Community Wetlands Management Area Rules. Gazettal will allow it coming into force and effect.
7. Organisations Communications Strategy is complete.
8. Disscusions have began with Frieda Mine operator Austpan, to consider developing a biodiversity offset program, but no firm commitment from the company has ben since their environment plan is still under consideration by government for approval and issuing of relevant environment permits before operations commence.
