Angaur Small Scale Farming Demonstration Project (Food Production, Food Security and Capacity Building)
The small farm demonstration project is a project is aimed at addressing three main issues. First, how to create alternate technique and methods of growing food in soil depleted environment such as Angaur State; second, what types of crops and vegetables are best to grow utilizing the methods and techniques created; and finally, how to establish a planting cycle that will provide maximum growth output at the least cost to feed the community and sell the excess output to communities outside of Angaur. This approach will ensure the community is food secure, a sustainable food production program and employment and income opportunities for both short and long term income generating strategy planning. The Project will be replicated among the hamlets in Angaur State, upon final evaluation of the demonstration project.
