Conservation of threatened fish species through introduction of alternate livelihood approaches and advocating the issues of fisher folk in coastal area of Badin.
Objective 1: To document and highlight the extent of Trash fishing in the area in relation to the Sindh Fisheries ACT and recommend alternate solutions.

Following main activities will be done to achieve this objective:
1) Consultative meeting with Fisheries Department in order to design integrated research study on Trash fishing in the area
2) Conduct research study of the area
3) Publicize and share the research findings with the stakeholders

Objective 2: Conserve threatened fish species of coastal area through mobilization, advocacy and provision of alternate livelihood support to the fisher folks.

Following main activities will be done to achieve this objective:
1) Baseline of the area for registration of the villages and beneficiaries
2) Registration of beneficiaries on set criteria
3) Mobilization and sensitization of beneficiaries against non judicious Trash fishing
4) Formation of Village Project Committees (VPCS) in targeted villages
5) Awareness sessions careful fishing and handling of trash fish
6) Promoting nursery/hatchery farm rearing business in the area
7) Provision of seed and feed to the selected beneficiaries

Objective 3: Engage youth of the coastal area in small enterprises

Following main activities will be done to achieve this objective:
1) Registration of youth in different trades according to their aptitude
2) Capacity building of selected youth in various income generating trades
3) Transfer of assets of various trades to the selected youth.

Anticipated Results (not more than 300 words)

? 400 trash farming fisher folk will be aware about precautionary measures of trash fishing
? 400 trash farming folk will have alternative hatchery fish farming available in their villages
? Economic level of 400 trash farming folk will be improved
? Threatened trash fish species will be conserved in the area
? 120 youth will be running small enterprises in coastal area.
