Fostering alternate energy through providing solar Lanterns and Solar Household Modules to most deprived indegenious REBARI community in village Lakho Rebari, U/C Nindo Shaher Taluka & District Badin.
To provide 100 solar lanterns and 15 Solar Houseold Module to village Lakho Rebari UC Nindo Shaher, Taluka & District Badin.

Activities:

1) Baseline Survey for targeting of appropriate village
Although organization has done the study of the village. However, a specific baseline will be done in order to target the most appropriate village for the intervention. Following criteria will be used for the selection of most appropriate village:
? No electricity facility is available
? Population utilizes more kerosene oil for lightning
? Poor livelihood sources

2) Formation of Village Porject Committee for the care and maintenance of installed products
Mobilization sessions will be started with the communities in order to explore the appropriate influencial persons/ elders of the village for the formation of villge project committees. Village Project Committee will be formed with the aim support project smooth implementation in the village and ensure community contribution effectively. The VPCs will help in selection of youth for the technical training, selection of appropriate beneficiaries for the project and help in running other project activities like installation of the solar street flood lights.
Following persons may be members of the VPC:
? Constant residents of the targeted village
? Literate people (will be added value)
? Social activists of the village
? Elders have say and respect in the villasge
? Mohala elders/leaders
? Opinion leaders of the village
? Mosque Imam
? Teachers and other eduated persons having there say in the village.

3) Beneficiary registration
Once VPC formation is completed along with villages selection; beneficiary registration will be started. Beneficiary households will be selected with the help of the VPC.
Following criteria will be used for the selection of a beneficiary.

? No electricity is available in the Household
? Less earners in the household
? More children <5 years in the household
? People with special abilities and elders are in the household
? Widows are available in the household
? Female headed households

Beneficiary will be registered and the data of registration of each village will be shred with the VPC members and will be displayed in the villages as well in order to ensure the transpancy and accountability.

4) Procurement of solar Lanterns and solar House Hold Module.
Procurement committee comprising of Project Manager, President of the organization and two Executive Body members will be responsible to do the procurement of the solar Household Modules for 50 HHs. The procurement policies of the organization and the donor will be followed for the procurement process.

5) Installation of solar Household Modules.
The solar Household Modules including solar fan, 2 sever bulbs, one battery and one penal with other appliances. Solar Household module will be provided to each of the community in the village. Project technical team with the help of VPC and the solar firm will jointly provide support to use the appliances carefully and safely. Project technical team will help to install the fan, penal and severs in each household. A formal agreement will be signed with the beneificiry to make sure that appliances will not be soldout in any case. In case of any demages or deficiency the project team will be contacted.


6) Distribution of solar Solar lanterns among the beneficiaries
First of all the distribution plan will be prepared with the mutual consensus of the VPCs of the targeted benificary. A Distribution Ceremony will be organized where all the beneficiaries will participate to receive the Household Module. This ceremony will help in distributing solar Household module at one place and, also, will help to properly mobilize and orient the communities through multimedia about the use, handling and benefits of using solar lanterns. The each benficaruy will be provided the installation facility without any charges. The common venue for distribution ceremony will be finalized with the consensus of all the VPCs of targeted benificaryies of the village. All related stakeholders will also be invited to participate in the ceremony.

7) Orientation sessions for beneficiaries on how to use solar energy products
Once solar household modules are distributed, project team will start organize orientation sessions in the each household of the village in order to properly orient the users about handling, care, maintainance and benefits of the distributed Household modules and to get the feedback of the communities.

8) One Day training of 1 formed VPCs on care and management of solar energy products
A one day orientation workshop will be organized for the VPC members in order to make them clear about the maintenance and handling measures of the solar household modules. This will help in mobilizing the VPC members to ensure get maximum benefits of the distributed lantriens and installed street lights.



Objective 2: 10 Training Regarding Social Mobilation and leader ship

Total 25 youth (male and female) will be identified and trained regarding leadership and social mobilization


Training about solar laterns usege and its importance

The selected youth will be given project orientation before setting training program for them. A two days training workshop will be organized for them in order to build their sufficient skills so that they may be in position to handle, repair of the installed solar products including distributed solar fans, bulbs, panels, battries in the 50 households. The two days training workshop will be organized on the theme as ?Maintinance of solar energy products including fans, bulbs, panels, battries?. This activity will help in leaving a sufficient pool of well trained youth in the village in order to deal with the repair and maintenance issues with the installed solar flood lights and the distributed lanterns.
Anticipated Results

? Approximate 1000 electricity lacking community village Lakho Rebari will have solar energy lightning in night at their houses
? The all household of this village will have sufficient household lights
? Utilization of kerosene oil for lightning purpose will be decreased by 80% in the targetd village.
? Well aware and sensitized elders and social activists in the village will be available who may ensure continual utilization of the distributed solar products
? Well trained 20 youth (10 male and 10 female) will be available in the village for repair and maintenance of the installed solar product in 50 HHs.
? 50 families with expected population 1000 including children, women, men & youth of village Lakho Rebari in UC Nindo Shaher, are entertaining solar-run-fan, & severs.
