Introduction of an autonomous photovoltaic station in the children's Oncology Centre "Borovliany"
Project goal ? Greenhouse gas emissions reductions (CO2) and cost savings from the introduction of autonomous photovoltaic power plant for electricity generation in the Children's Oncology Centre "Borovliany".
Project tasks:
1. Introduction of an autonomous photovoltaic plant on the territory Children's Oncology Centre "Borovliany" for electricity generation for the needs of Oncology Centre.
2. Increase the capacity of Minsk region health institutions and the local community in the field of alternative energy sources usage and mitigating the negative impacts of climate change.
3. Dissemination of project experience on alternative sources of energy usage in health institutions at the local and national level.
Expected results
1. On the territory Children's Oncology Centre "Borovliany" installed and successfully operating an autonomous photovoltaic power plant to generate electricity for the needs of the Center. The annual output of the photovoltaic plant will be not less than 20000 kilowatt hours.
2. After the introduction of photovoltaic power plant annual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere is at least 14,700 tons in CO2-equivalent due to the use of energy-saving technologies and generated solar energy .
3 . Saved significant amounts of money will allow to continue the construction of posttreatment houses for the children with cancer and their parents. It is expected that savings of Center will be at least $ 9340 per year.
4 . Increased energy efficiency in Center by addressing at least 2 new technologies and installing an automated system on/off lighting in technical premises.
5 . Awareness of health institutions Minsk region and local community v.Borovlyanyis raised on possibilities of using solar energy - project results, GEF activities on climate change are widely distributed.
