Reconnecting to Palau is developed with two purposes in mind. The first is to give the opportunity for Palauan students and youth to take their classroom experience and put it into a project that will help Palau address climate change, food security and self-reliance through capacity building. This is done by preparing Palauans to produce as much locally rather than just depending on imported products that use fossil fuels to produce and to transport them to Palau. This is where Palau can do its? part in lowering its carbon footprint.

Secondly, is to work with local schools, communities and organizations and remind them that Palau has resources that can be used to become more self-reliant
