Handicrafting and capacity building for knowledge management
This grant intended to strengthening capacity of those grantees who have been covered by the other 6 COMDEKS grants in Selenge region. A total of five training sessions have been conducted by Duuren Sanaa NGO on making souvenirs and handy-crafts from beeswax, wood, wool and non-timber forest resources such as fallen tree branches, leaves, nut sells etc. Hundreds of souvenirs and handy-craft products have been produced by the first/new Mongolian COMDEKS communities. Many of them were also sold at local markets and contributed to improve livelihoods of communities. A training on the concept of Satoyama initiative, indicators of resilience, knowledge, knowledge products and management was given to communities covered by COMDEKS projects.
