Raise environmental awareness among school students in Gaza Strip through the adaption of the green school model
WHEREAS GEF/SGP has established and provided funding for a project, being to raise environmental awareness among school students in Gaza strip through the adaption of the green school model.
The project aim to increase environmental awarenss for among students, teatchers and staff members (male and females) of one 2 schools through increasing awarenss and and understanding of inividuls towards environmental issueand disseminating environmental friendly practices among students and other targeted members including the production of orgnic and healthy food through appliying organic and environmental friendly farming practices.
The project will address the adaptation of green school model as a tool for achiving the sustainable environmental development and thus contributing to improve life quality for the Gaza strip community. The project will mainly address and influence of human activity on disturbing and harming local environment, natural resources and environmental heritafe in Gaza strip and it will propose and introduce environmental friendly practices to minimize these harmfull consequenences. The students and their supervisors will found school Eco-clubs that will involve active and creative students and will take the responsibility to apply awareness and educational activites for other students and other school in the town.
The project will be implemented over 6 months and will mainly include the following activities:
Enhance the capacity of students and teachers on Environmental leadership and awareness
Establish 2 Eco gardens at targeted school.
Found Eco clubs and 2 group of environmental leaders from students and teachers Organize one exhibition .
Organize public cleaning campaigns inside and around the targeted school
