The Specific Objectives of this project will be to:
1. Provide and conduct massive and sustained education /sensitization campaigns in all the affected communities through the Conduct of person to person contact, person to people contact, focus group discussions to enhance their understanding of the protected species.
2. Monitor the Cestos River basin on the hunting activities by recording the illegal killing of the protected species
3. Engage the Cestos River basin communities into dialogue and actions geared toward the protected species in the Cestos River Basin including the pigmy hippopotamus
4. Promote alternative sources of income and livelihood for local hunters that are attached to conservation and protection for these species
These projects will employ adaptive, participatory and educational techniques to achieve its plans.
- Conduct quality and sustained awareness raising and educational materials within the communities along the Basin
- monitor the Cestos River banks on the hunting activities by recording the illegal killing of the protected species
- To engage the Cestos River basin communities into dialogue and actions geared toward the protected species in the Cestos River Basin including the pigmy hippopotamus

- To promote alternative sources of income and livelihoods that are attached to conservation and protection for local hunters
