Towards Environmental Governance Supported by Media Coverage in Gaza Strip.
The project will target all the governorate of Gaza strip by spotlighting the most important environmental problems and be covered by the journalists who will write journalistic materials about these problems and try to broadcast it through media means and social media after receiving training courses awareness workshops regarding the laws and rules of environmental governance.
The direct targeted beneficiaries are the 25 new journalists who recently started to work in media agencies and who are active on social media and environmental associations.
The indirect beneficiary will be the whole community who will be targeted through attending workshops? and listen to radio episodes and spots.
The project includes many different activities:
? Set up the environmental media unit that provides the Journalists with legal and media consultations.
? Conduct 3 Training courses in topics related to environmental governance, traditional media and new social media.
? Conducting 10 workshops of topics related to environmental governance and media coverage for these issues will be implemented throughout the project period.
? Conducting 12 field visits to the environmental association and other related sectors will be implemented, besides the places that suffer from environmental problems to know more about the related problems.
? Implementing 5 radio episodes in topics related to environmental governance and role of media in covering this sector in media and social media.
? Also 10 radio spots about the environmental and media laws and rules of the Palestinian environmental law.
? Publishing 4 electronic newsletters that its topics done by the targeted group. Besides creating a blog to publish the journalistic materials done by the 25 journalists.
? Implementing a study day about the environmental circumstances and role of media.
? A final ceremony will be implemented at the end of the project period
