The green economy of orchard for village revival (“Trees against poverty and land degradation”)
Project goal ? To introduce ?green economy? approaches for welfare improvement of low-income families on the territories of the two affected by Chernobyl accident districts of Belarus.
Achieving the stated goal require addressing following tasks:
1. Introduction of "green economy" principles (mini-gardens) for low-income and large families from Bragin and Krasnopolye districts;
2. Create in the project areas conditions for long-term program "Green Economy of the garden for the village revival ";
3. Enhance the skills of local communities for the effective fruit gardening and to disseminate the project results throughout the project areas.
Expected results
1. 20 low-income families from Bragin and Krasnopolye districts annually recieve support for the production of organic fruits and berries;
2. Planted 2 nursery fruit trees, which will support at least 100 low-income families over the next 5 years;
3. At least 10 historically grown varieties of fruit trees revived and are distributing among the population;
4. At least 2 blueberry plantation are laid in each of 2 districts;
5. Revenue of low-income families after the laying of the garden has increased at least by 15%;
6. Published and distributed calendar of gardener, booklet on project implementation results.
