The use of renewable electricity for the operations of the Centre for Environmental Education
Project goal ? Reduction of Greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) by the introduction of alternative sources of energy (solar energy) for the operation of public Environmental Center - educational and recreation - tourist complex near the village Mostishche Logoisk district Minsk oblast.
Project tasks:
Task 1: Introduction of an autonomous photovoltaic power plant and electricity generation for the operation of public environmental education center near the village Mostishche Logoisk district Minsk oblast.
Task 2: Creation and maintenance of functioning of public center for Environmental Education
Task 3: Ensure popularization of the project outcomes among the public of Belarus.
Expected results
1. Established and successfully operating photovoltaic power plant to generate electricity for the operation of public environmental education center near the village Mostishche Logoisk district Minsk oblast.
2. After introducing photovoltaic power plant greenhouse gas emissions in CO2-equivalent were reduced by at least 9.79 tons per year through the use of renewable energy sources.
3. Ensured the creation and sustainabile fuctioning of public environmental education center.
4. On a regular basis by informing the public on the implementation of the Republic of Belarus three global environmental conventions UN urgent environmental problems existing in the country, and measures taken to address them.
5. Capacity of non-governmental environmental organizations, local communities and other civil society organizations was enhanced in the development and implementation of environmental projects and programs.
6. Disseminated information on project results; information on GEF climate change mitigation activities and renewable energy is disseminating at the national and local levels at the regular basis.
