The primary aim of the planning grant is to conduct survey, get community's consultation and write proposal to meet the need of effective sustainable onion production in response to sandy saline land, therefore to continue develop the project " Continual improvement and transferring of the cultivating models of effective land and water resource use to maintain efficient sustainable commercial production of onions on sandy lands in Vinh Chau commune, Soc Trang". Detail activities are (i) Determine the technical sollutions of managing water land resources and rotational crops in drought and saline lands (ii) Design the content of models which needs to be developed about the technique of sustainable land management, economical underground water usuage, effective onion cultivation (iii) Determine all stakeholders involved in the project and how relevant the project is with the locality. Chances of integration with other plans, project in the locality are also considered and mattered (iv) Indicators for project evaluation are shown (v) a workshop (1 day) to get consultation ideas from community, local authorities is organized (vi) Writing the full proposal.
