The primary aim of the planning project "Supporting the policu implementation for sustainable cassava development through intensive cultivation of community-based cassava cultivating model, on possibly degraded and discolored land, due to cultivation conditions and the impact of climate change (drought, soil degradation) in Binh Dinh" is to make assessment on the field to collect information and data which are the basis for developing full project proposal, specifically (i) Collecting data and detailed information of communes and villages for the basis of designing appropriate model and set up input data for evaluation indicators (ii) Consulting about the appropriateness of project objectives, content and sollutions; possibility of integrating project with related programs, plans of local government. Main activities are (i) Field assessment and interviews in the community are carried out in 4 communes including Dak Mang commune of Hoai an district; Hoai son commune of Hoa Nhon district, Cat Hiep commune of Phu Cat district, Binh Tan commune of Tay Son district. Participants come from people's committee at the commune level, Farmers' associations, Women union, farmers. Survey and community consultation PRA are approaches to be used (ii) Assessment and local authority consultation are carried out in 4 districts including Hoai An, Hoa Nhon, Tay Son, Phu Cat to reach data on policy, related plans and program for integrating with the project. Local authorities come from people commitees, department of agriculture and rural development, farmers' association, women union, department of environment and natural resources, department of science and technology,...(iii) Provincial workshop is organized to get consultation ideas in pursuit of completed project proposal (iv)Synthesizing information for developing full project proposal.
