The primary aim of the planning grant on the project "Transfer rice cultivation techniques adapted to water logging and salinity to improve the community's capacity to maintain the efficiency of rice production in the coastal area districts (tuy Phuoc, Phu cat district) in Binh Dinh for the limitation of the fallow paddy land in saline conditions and increased seawater intrusion due to the impact of climate change" is to conduct assessment to get consultation from community, collecting data, information in pursuit of developing full project proposal. Detailed activities include (i) Field assessment on community is conducted in 6 communes Phuoc Hoa, Phuoc Son, Phuoc Thang, Phuoc thuan of tuy Phuoc district; Cat tien, Cat chang of Phu Cat district to collect data on traditional knowledge, crop plant, domestic animal structure, livelihood,...) based on the agreement of community and local government. (ii) The other assessment is conducted with the target on local authority about collecting related policy, projects and plans to contribute to integrate with project's content. Local authorities are representatives of department of natural resources and environment of Binh dinh, department of agriculture, people's committes of Tay Son, tuy Phuoc district, Farmers' association, "Woman union (iii) Workshop at the provincial level is organized to get ideas on the findings of the baseline survey (iv) Synthesizing and processing data to develop full project proposal.
