The planning grant for project " Contribute to reducing the impact og drought and extreme weather, desertification through demonstration models in combination of agriculture, forestry and irrigation to improve livelihoods of communities living on the sandy region of Gio My commune, Gio Linh district of Quang Tri province" is to getting consultations from different stakeholders, collect data and relative information to work on full project proposal. Detail activities of planning grant include (i) Conducting assessment to select project location for developing the model. Working with local government of Gio My commune, 3 villages An My, Nhi Thuong, Cam Pho, Gio My farmer association to study on field location for the model developed. Getting community feedback on community's meeting on household participation on the project (ii) Studying on information and collecting data on social, economic, cultural, natural, environment, livelihood conditions in the area, specifically putting emphasis on extreme weather and climate change's impact on production and living condition of the community in recent years (iii) Developing technical solutions for the pratical areas for application of demonstration models (iv) Developing workplan, indicators for evaluating, writing project proposal and organizing workshop gathering all stakeholders participated on the findings.
