Demonstration site on the Integration of model farming system and micro-hydro power
The project will be integrating the model of farming system and micro-hydro power in 5 villages within Paruparu, Central Bougainville. In developing an integrated farming system enabling creation of fluid fertilizer that can be used to improve subsistence farmer harvests and further reduce use of deforestation where locals are seeking standing forested lands thought to be more fertile, improving harvest. As an integrated project, improving farming methods will have consequential impact of maintaining standing primary forest.
