Mitigation of risks to drought
To ensure that by mid-2014, 3,405 people, 1,753 women, from 593 households in three villages, Santuk Knong, Cheay Sbai and Svay Kall, Kor Kos commune, Santuk district, Kampong Thom province, have access to sufficient water from two irrigation canals and a reservoir for irrigation of 110 ha of dry and 237 ha of wet season rice with two farming cycles a year.

Outcome 1: Two canals 2,200 m in total length and a reservoir - Beoung Kraom - 100 m by 90 m, rehabilitated to provide sufficient water for 3,405 people, 1,753 women, from 593 HHs at Cheay Sbai, Santuk Knong and Svay Kal villages, Kor Kos commune, Santuk district, Kampong Thom province for irrigating 110 ha dry season rice.

Output 1.1: Two canals, 700 m and 1,500 m (top width - 2m, bottom width - 1.5m, and 1.5m - depth) and Boeung Kraom reservoir 100m x 90 m x 2.5 m, and three canals at Chheung Ka?aeb 1,500 m x 1 m x 0.5 m rehabilitated to provide sufficient water for irrigating 110 dry season rice.

Output 1.2: A water committee of 10 members, 4 women, organized to manage two canals, a principal and a primary canals and Beoung Kraom reservoir.

Outcome 2: 30 model farmers, 15 women, from the three participating villages gained knowledge on climate resilient vegetable and rice farming techniques.

Output 2.1: 30 farmers, 15 women, received training on cabbage, morning glory, cucumber and rice farming techniques and knowledge on how to adapt to climate change and become model farmers in the tree participating villages.

Output 2.2: Three seed credit groups (vegetables and rice) in the three villages established to promote climate resilient farming practices.

Outcome 3: Six new saving groups are established and functioning to contribute to local livelihood of the members through savings and provision of loan to diversify livelihood activities.

Output 3.1: Six saving groups of 87 members, 74 women, established.

Output 3.2: 150 farmers, 80 women, understood climate change concept.
