Under GEF-SGP, since 1998 to 2008, altogether 102 projects has been awarded (51% Biodiversity, 33 % Climate Change ,9% Land Degradation and 7% Capacity Building), in which, 93 Full Grants, 9 Planning Grants projects and 1 Strategic Regional Project implemented in Sri Lanka. Till the time, 115 projects throughout the country have been supported so far in Nepal. The projects have been implemented in the sectors of biodiversity conservation, climate change, land degradation and sustainable forest management, wetland conservation and capacity building. Some of the projects had completed and some of them may have been implementing in certain project sites in the country. The projects have been in line with long term and immediate objectives of GEF-SGP are to secure global environmental benefits in areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and protection of international waters through community based approaches that also generate local benefits and to promote conservation and sustainable development strategies and to support projects to protect the global environment with the understanding of and practice by the communities and other key stakeholders.

Developmental initiatives have been taken by several actors. The success or achievements have also been quite visible. However, these successes remain scattered and fragmented. Over time it is either forgotten or faded away completely. Numerous examples are in evidence where encouraging results have been lost with the passage of time. In order to ensure that successes of SGP?s initiatives are intact, there is an urgent need for documenting these achievements and disseminating to all public and concerned stakeholders.
The major objective of project is to highlight the successful and sustainable projects supported by SGP. Likewise, the specific objectives are to produce and disseminate following informative materials and arrangement will made to air the programme from reliable television channels of the country:
? One documentary
? Five field based reporting on the projects one from each development region and disseminate from Janachaso Programme in NTV (Saturday, 08:25 am)
? Five studio TV talk shows, and air via Rupantaran TV programme in Avenues TV (Thursday, 09:25 pm)
? Five public hearings and air via Rupantaran TV programme in Avenues TV (Thursday, 09:25 pm)
These all proposed media activities will are essential to be documented and disseminated.
