The aim of the planning grant for the project "Improvement of effective community management and usage of Anadara antiquata line in coastal Thuan quy commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan" is to conduct survey assessment and perform consultation with the community for supplementing information and collecting inputs (data) which is the basis for completing full project proposal. Activities include (i) a survey assessment is conducted in 3 villages Thuan Thanh, Thuan Minh, Thuan Cuong of Thuan Quy coastal commune to get information and data on environment and biodiversity of Thuan Quy, community's demand on livelihood, relative information on Anadara antiquata (yeild, havest season,...) . Approaches utilized are PRA interview and survey and diving to determine the position and density of Anadara antiquata in particular areas. 60 people are interviewed in which 40 people are working in aquaculture exploitation; 10 women are from fishing households; the other 10 are local authorities (ii) Study on the appropriateness between project objectives, content, sollutions and pratical demand of the locality as well as the possibility of intergrating project plan into locality's program, plans. Second information about environment, policy on handing over the right of water use for fishermen, fishery resource management is collected (iii) Synthesizing and processing data which are helpful to design appropriate project (iv) two workshops are organized to get consultations from community, local government ( provincial department of agriculture and rural development, provincial department of environment and natural resources, relative state agencies in environment and agriculture of Ham Thuan Nam district, Farmers' association; Women association) for enough inputs for completing the full project proposal
