The primary aim of the planning grant is to conduct field assessments, to get consultations with stakeholders in pursuit of completing the project proposal with high feasibility. Activities are carried out including (i) Field assessment about Bon Bo tree in regards of conservation, management, development and the use of Bon Bo in the commune area. Information assessed and collected comprises of current situation of forestry land, communes' natural resources, land types suitable for Bon Bo tree, ecological conditions, regulations, policy of the locality on conserving Bon Bo, concerns of local authority and community about proposed project,... Surveys interviewing with local government and community are applied. Assessment in the communes is carried out in Nam Nhoong, Cam Muon and Tri Le (ii) Field assessment about Bon Bo tree in regards of conservation, management, development and the use of Bon Bo in the Que Phong district. Necessary information and data to collect resemble with the assessment conducted in the commune. However, the approach is a bit different. The study of documents is appied and a consultation meeting is held. The meeting emphasizes the participation of people's committee at the district level, department of agriculture and rural development, The protection forest management unit, farmers' association, women union,... (iii) Report writing and proposed project based on the data and information collected and synthesized.
