Reducing vulnerability to drought by community at Tuorl Pich commune, Ang Snuol district, Kandal province, to improve food security
Project goal
To enhance capacity of 561 HHs in target communities to adapt to drought in order to ensure sufficient food supply for consumption all year round.
Outcome:
Outcome 1: Saving groups had the necessary capacity to generate and manage capital in their communities in order to reduce demand for loan from outside and capacity for drought resistant agricultural production.
Output 1.1: Five saving groups from 5 villages, 15 members each, 10 women, established.
Outcome 2: Total 300 ha wet season rice and 30 ha dry season rice in target villages have sufficient access to water for irrigation through rehabilitation of Deum Po reservoir.
Output 2.1: A dike 2,292 m long with 5 sluice gates repaired and maintained.
Output 2.2: A water management committee of 5 members, 3 women, established and recognized by commune authority and provincial Department of Water Resources.
