Sustainable Management of Kaburi Village Forest
The Kaburi Village is engaged in timber harvesting of the village's forest resources.This project seeks to ensure the sustainable management of the forest resources of the community and to mitigate the effect of timber harvesting on the environment by training and certifying members of the community involved in forest harvesting activities with skills in forest management, chainsaw milling and forest mensuration. In addition, a five-year Harvesting Plan would be developed and adopted by the village. This project would contribute to the sustainable management of 1,100 hectares (11 blocks) of forest.
