Prevention of Land Degradation and Highland Fruit Production in Abergina Kebele
The project aims to rehabilitate the degraded area for the better socio-economic benefit of the Abergina kebele community and the CBO?s members in particular and support the environmental protection effort of government and other development actors in the Semien Mountain National Park through planting highland fruits for income generation purpose generating income for household subsistence, providing HHs with fuel saving stoves, rehabilitating of indigenous forests through protection and reforestation of deforested area, planting of indigenous tree seedlings by HHs in their garden, farming plots and other degraded areas for purpose of environmental and economic values of forest, and equipping the community with the required knowledge and skill to protect their environment.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Once the project implemented, target beneficiary expect to improve their income from sale of highland fruit/apple production, will equipped with the required knowledge and skill about environmental conservation, and also they will diversify other livelihood options using the income from highland fruit sale.
Notable Community Participation
Youth engaged on solar system as a barber and other employees which creates a great opportunity for the kebele in many ways
