Installation of Low Cost Biogas Units as Alternative Energy Sources to Mitigate Climate Change and Enhance Sustainable Development
The project aims to promote low cost and environmentally friendly alternative energy sources (bio-gas) in Zebena kebele to reduce natural forest degradation for sustainable biodiversity conservation in and around Semien Mountain National Park through promoting biogas technology as alternative energy sources for 150 HHs and reduce biomass destruction in the project area, promoting organic fertilizer utilization from biogas digester for vegetable production at backyard for household consumption and as additional income sources, enhancing women participation in public by saving women and girl?s labor, time, energy and improving family health by reducing smoke emission, and equipping beneficiary households and youth in the project area with the required technical knowledge, skill and tool for biogas digester maintenance and installation.
