Project Characteristics and Results
Notable Community Participation
Sustainable land-use management is designed to be owned by the community and YPA will only play the role of facilitator. It is a hands-on project with the recipients playing a central role in its implementation. The trainings will be practical which means the beneficiaries will have to walk with the trainers in all steps and throughout the sessions. This will also offer the recipients a chance to contribute to the projects monitoring and evaluation with their feedback aiding in refining the implementation.
Gender Focus
This project has been informed by the communities? gender differenciated challenges. This fact has been put into consideration while researching for mitigation measures. Women will benefit from the project as they will gain skills that will enable them to cater for their needs and those of their families. The disabled will also benefit from the project as some of its aspects like beadwork does not require much physical strength.
