The key project aim is to support sustainable soil management in Teklati community of Senaki Municipality through restoration of drainage system on marshy territories. project will contribute to Protect Teklati community?s homestead land, dwelling houses and arable lands from marsh and degradation. to Rehabilitate and restore marshy and unused agricultural land, to Increase productivity on arable lands and Build the community?s capacity, increase the mobilization level, ensure community participation and strengthen their capacity in relation to soil degradation and sustainable land-tenure issues.

Gender Focus
246 households (828 persons) including 420 women will become the project beneficiaries. Non-industrial (non-commercial) legal entity Teklati 2013 (among them five women) will be involved in the project implementation and management (community meetings, record keeping).
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Increased productivity of corn on land of 295 ha. According to preliminary estimates, approximately from 3-4 to 7-8 tons of corn per ha.
