The main objective of the project: To improve the living conditions of elderly people of Geriatric Home "Svetlitsa" in the village Kamen, Lepel District and to introduce the possibilities of alternative sources of energy into Geriatric System in Belarus. The project will contribute to the Republic of Belarus obligations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

Project tasks:
To create the show-case of alternative energy sources use at the site of Geriatric Home "Svetlitsa" in the village Kamen, Lepel District
To run the informational campaign and create preconditions for multiplication of project results at other Geriatric sites in Belarus
Expected results:
New energy efficient system introduced at the Geriatric Home "Svetlitsa" in the village Kamen, Lepel District with the use of alternative energy sources
Economic effect of this event has the following components:
Reduction of heat the building; Reducing fuel consumption for heat;Reducing power consumption for transportation of coolant
Expected savings from solar energy about 4 800 USD/ year; saved thermal energy - 32.5 Gcal / year or 5.7 tons of reference fuel / year.

The project results are replicated at the other Geriatric Homes in Belarus
