Conservation and Rehabilitation of Degraded Land in Abine Garmema kebele
The project aims to enhance the ecological service, economic benefit and environmental sustainability of the area through physical and biological conservation measures and by creating alternative income generation activities through capacitating CBO members and enhance awareness on environment protection to the community living around & with in catchment area, carrying out physical and biological soil and water conservation/management practices to reduce land degradation in 56.4 ha of land; promoting alternative livelihood opportunities to reduce the vulnerability of CBO members; minimizing natural resource degradation of in 56.4 hectares of land in Abine germama kebele; rehabilitating indigenous plants and wild animals in 56.4 hectares of land; planting 140,000 acacia saligna tree and grass species; and improving the livelihood of CBO members by creating income generating activities from beef fattening and bee keeping.
