Proposal for the Organization and Coordination of a Community/Civil Society/Government Dialogue Workshop in Preparation for the Third International Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Conference
This project will conduct the participation of state and non-state actors (communities and Civil Society Organizations) in the crafting of the country statement that will be presented by the Head of Delegation at the SIDS Conference. The statement from the Belize?s Head of Delegation (Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and Sustainable Development) will be much stronger and more appreciated if it can be said that it comes with the voices of the country?s poor and vulnerable communities and its civil society.
Objectives:
1. Obtain broad stakeholder participation
2. Share information and obtain input on the six (6) thematic areas listed above
3. Document workshop proceedings and draft a country statement
