Waste recycling project
The main objective of the project is to attract the attention of the community to the global problems of climate change and POPs through the development and implementation of waste recycling practices. The project supports local communities in Radomyshl and Malyn districts of Zhytomyr region to overcome the biggest environmental problems in the region by demonstrating how to achieve sustainable development. Introduction of the collection and use of secondary raw materials will be a solid foundation for further dissemination and implementation of new environmentally friendly activities among the local population of Zhytomyr region and neighboring areas.
Specific objectives of the project include: - Environmental awareness raising on waste management and reduction of emissions; - Introduction of separate collection and recycling as a way of preventing climate change and reducing emissions at local level; - Capacity building, dissemination of best practices by organizing public events.
This project provides an opportunity to enhance the understanding of the importance of the introduction of separate collection and recycling.
