Youth empowerment for wider sustainable development: the future we want!
The project is aimed to increase environmental education and ecological awareness on climate change issues among schoolchildren and to develop youth ecological network and partnerships among Ukrainian educational institutions.Specific project objectives include a number of demonstration and practical measures to combat climate change at the local level including energy efficiency and tree planting activities; improvement of ecological culture and promotion of education for sustainable development among children and youth; development of youth ecological network, expanding partnerships and knowledge sharing between Ukrainian educational institutions.The project is going to organize tree planting activities for schoolchildren and youth in the recreational and park areas of Sarny town, install energy-efficient equipment in 3 local schools, develop and disseminate publications on climate change mitigation and biodiversity losses prevention, develop and promote on-line youth eco-network, conduct children environmental forum.

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Raising public awareness is a major part of the project. This will be achieved by organization and conduction of All-Ukrainian Ecological Forum ?Children for Environment: The Future We Want? with participation of representatives from different state and educational institutions, NGOs, scientists, etc.

The local community actively participated in drafting of the project and in the future will participate in its implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
