Civil Society Consultation on Small Islands Developing States in Barbados
The project seeks to develop a space for participative engagement and dialogue of civil society organisations and actors to articulate positions and concerns that can add substance to the Government of Barbados? position going into the Third International SIDS conference scheduled for Apia, Samoa.
The objectives are to:
(1) To facilitate a national CSO consultation or dialogue about the preparations, roles and positions of the Government of Barbados, in relation to the Third International SIDS conference by the 31st July 2014.
(2) To develop and record a national CSO position on issues related to SIDS that can feed into the position being developed by the Government of Barbados by August 8th 2014.
(3) To facilitate the emergence/establishment of a formal major groups mechanism that can be linked to the UN Major Groups system by August 8th 2014.
