ACOD Conserving Shea Parklands aims to empower members of the community to conserve the shea parkland by maintaining regeneration in their areas using a combination of approaches notably: sparing the shea trees during cultivation, weeding around the seedling/sapling/tree to protect them from bush fires, enforcing local rules and strict bylaws that forbid cutting of shea trees for charcoal and other purposes, promoting use of shea nut products to improve livelihoods among community members and building capacity of local stakeholders for continuous protection of the shea nut trees
