Conducting workshops for 30 farmers on management, production, marketing and markets, management of a processing unit of fruits and conservation of the native biome Caatinga.
Dissemination of results by means of meetings in all communities in the region, in addition to communication and exchange activities with external beneficiaries will contribute to this project component.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Management techniques will be proposed based on data acquired by the studies, which will hopefully ultimately become public policy. Support for the project involves environmental agencies at the state and federal level.
Notable Community Participation
The community will benefit directly the Serra dos Paus Dóias community with 30 families participating in the project, so that the radius of conservation and sustainable use of native fruits and recovery of degraded areas in this part of the Chapada Araripe-Exu-PE, can be increased.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The generation of employment and income for members of families is hoped to be met with the completion of the processing unit, recovery of degraded areas, increase of local agricultural biodiversity based on the principles of agroecology, insertion of sociobiodiversity products in different markets and capacity for self-management. Community involvement in these activities is the goal to improve quality of life and the degree of satisfaction and happiness necessary for coexistence with the semiarid region.
