Majority of the community is CKDu (chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology) patients. They willingly participate for the medical clinics and to other project related activities. Model farms will be established with the community participation and reconstructions of the cement water filters will also be done with their participation.

Micro credit scheme was arranged for 20 persons. The loans will be given to initiate and develop their new business ventures started through the livelihood program.

Model farms with minimum agrochemical usage will be established and the farmers will have sustainable income sources as there is a high demand for organic products. Sewing course was organized for 20 selected women under livelihood training programme

The community will be educated about the reasons and causes for the CKDu and ultimately they will have scientific knowledge to take steps to prevent the disease. A Field excursion was organized for the villagers to Gannoruwa Agricultural Technology Park. 20 model farms with minimum agrochemical usage were established with 20 families. Livelihood training programs was conducted for women.

The community would have proper knowledge about health hazards &damages caused to the environment by the use of agrochemicals.
