“Environmentally sustainable microeconomic rural development pilot project”.
The project will establish a pilot project in four villages in the Central River Region North: Njau, Yundum, Njau Jaha, and Jareng. These are poor agricultural villages. Many of the villagers will have access to land and to income generating activities, but generally lack the skills and resources that enable them to contribute positively towards the household income.
The project will particularly target women?s groups living in rural, agricultural areas, who are largely unemployed and live in poverty. Project participants will be those who have demonstrated some interest and/or skill in biodiversity and conservation, income generation and business development. Project beneficiaries will have the opportunity to gain skills in business, forest management; producing bee related or recycled products and beekeeping.
